I have a question for my American friends: are birds "critters"? My apartment association has distributed a strict edict. We may not feed "the squirrels and other critters".
I has always assumed critters were things with fur, not feathers, but I do not want to attract the wrath of they who must be obeyed....
"critter" is a slang term derived from "creature," and that means any animal can be one. I think a bird is a creature. Obviously a word whose usage is subjective
While bird can be an equal nuisance as "critters" they are not at all close to being like squirrels, chipmunks and others in their family! :)
ReplyDeleteNope. I agree with you that critters were animals with furs,so it's definitely not birds :)
